Roy
N. Pottenger, MD, has practiced orthopedic surgery in Carmichael
since 1981. As a founding partner of NCOC in 1995, he specializes
in general orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, arthoscopic surgery,
and total joint replacement.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and
the American College of Surgeons. He is board certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which demonstrates evidence of his
outstanding achievements.
Dr. Pottenger received his medical degree and Master of Science
from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic
surgery residency at the University of California at Davis, and
Loyola University, Chicago.
He devotes a great deal of his spare time to sports and the treatment
of athletic injuries. He was a collegiate football quarterback and
experienced his own rehabilitation from orthopedic knee ligament
surgery. Now an avid golfer, he has a special interest in total
joint replacement and care of the senior athlete.
